Lessons

“The true purpose of arts education is not necessarily to create more professional dancers or artists.  It’s to create more complete human beings who are critical thinkers, who have curious minds, who can lead productive lives.”  – Kelly Pollock

I can teach lessons wherever there is a piano!  In my studio, in your home, at a third party location, or even via Skype!

VOICE:  I teach a classical bel canto technique that teaches us to use the breath for a long flowing line and to balance the colors of the voice for an even sound throughout all the registers.  Don’t worry if classical music isn’t your style, healthy singing is healthy singing no matter what the genre.  To know how the voice works and to know what you are doing to create your individual sound is to be an artist.  However you apply this knowledge is your choice!  All singers are given the option of participating in a semi-annual recital!

PIANO:  I use a combination of several different printed and time tested curricula as the foundation of my lessons.  However, I augment these lessons with music trivia, theory, and listening to expose and develop the students into well-rounded musicians!  All pianists are given the option of participating in a semi-annual recital!

GROUP CLASSES:   I teach in several different Pre-K schools as a part-time music instructor.  Please contact me if you are interested in having an age appropriate class to develop Basic Music Competency in your students.  Studies have shown that children who study music (at any age) have higher cognitive function and it is FUN!

CAMPS:  I am certified in the Music! Words! Opera! Creating your own Opera or Musical Theater curriculum and would love to work with your group in a multi-faceted, STEAM supporting experience that allows students to create from SCRATCH their own masterwork.  This includes writing a story, composing music, acting, lighting, and set design!  Contact me for more information!
